Middly — Last updated 28 May 2026
Middly ("we", "us", or "the app") helps groups find a convenient meeting point. This policy explains what data the app collects, why, and how it is handled. We do not require you to create an account, and we do not sell your personal data.
| Data | Purpose | Stored? |
|---|---|---|
| Device location | Find meeting points near you | Only while the app is in use; never uploaded to our servers |
| Crash logs & diagnostics | Fix bugs and improve stability | Sent to Firebase Crashlytics (Google); retained per Google's policy |
| Advertising identifier (IDFA / GAID) | Serve ads via Google AdMob | Processed by Google; subject to your consent choices |
| Device attestation token | Verify the app install is genuine (Firebase App Check) | Temporary; not linked to you personally |
| Session identifier | Correlate crash reports within a single session | Random ID stored on-device only; reset each session |
The app requests location permission ("when in use") solely to centre the map and suggest nearby meeting areas. Your coordinates are processed on-device and through Google Maps APIs to display results. We do not store or transmit your precise location to our own servers.
Middly displays banner ads served by Google AdMob. On first launch you are asked for consent via the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework (UMP) and, on iOS, the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. You can change your ad preferences at any time using the privacy button in the app, or by resetting your device's advertising identifier in system settings.
The app relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
We do not maintain our own user database. Crash reports are retained by Firebase Crashlytics for 90 days. Ad-related data is managed by Google according to their retention policies. On-device data (session IDs, preferences) persists until you uninstall the app or clear its storage.
Middly is not directed at children under 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Depending on your location you may have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data, or to opt out of certain processing. Because we do not maintain user accounts, we hold minimal identifiable data. To exercise any rights or ask questions, contact us at the address below.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.
